Food on Campus

Jackson Campus - Cafe 64 provides breakfast and lunch service to students and employees for a nominal cost.  The cafe is open from Monday - Thursday 8-10 a.m. (breakfast) and
11 a.m.-2 p.m. (lunch).  Menu can be found at this link.  Food and drink vending machines are also located in several spots around campus.

Mailboxes

If your class meets on one of our physical campuses, you will be provided a mailbox in your divisional area. Speak with the administrative assistant in your division for specific locations, and check it each time you come on campus for class.

NASA Grant - The Smoky Mountains STEM Collaborative

Southwestern Community College has been awarded a grant from NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) to enrich STEM education in our schools and communities, in partnership with Appalachian State University.

Parking

You may park in any legal parking space.

Parking decals may be obtained from the College Information Center. Be sure to register your vehicle and display your decal.  
Parking permits can be obtained at the College Information Center (in the Balsam Building).

Payroll

Adjunct instructors will need to sign an employment agreement for the course(s) taught each semester.  The amount to be paid, and timeframes will be listed on your agreement.

Checks are distributed the last working day of each month. Payroll checks will be available for pickup in the College Business Office until 1 p.m., on the monthly payday however if your check is not picked up by 1 p.m., it will be placed in the U.S. Mail.  Direct deposit is available following for faculty after their first year of instruction.
