The theme for this year’s Human Services Technology program was “Love. Grow. Serve.”

That’s exactly what this year’s 10 graduates intend to do.

Seven of the graduates – Morgan Biddix of Dillsboro, Samantha Burch of Cullowhee, Bethany Green of Rosman, Mariah Moody of Robbinsville, Jessica Queen of Cullowhee, Caitlin Reitmeier of Franklin and Jennifer Sutton of Clyde - earned their associate degrees in Human Services Technology and are now ready to accept entry level positions with agencies that provide social, community and educational services.

Three others (Nicholas Braden of Bryson City, Madison Lovedahl of Sylva and Kaylind Matthews of Whittier) earned their certificates in Substance Abuse Treatment and are now able to assist individuals undergoing recovery from drug and alcohol addictions.

All 10 also have the option of furthering their education by pursuing bachelor’s degrees at four-year institutions.

“We’re extremely proud of every single one of our graduates,” said Lori Clancy, Human Services Technology program coordinator at SCC. “They all bring their own unique talents, backgrounds and experiences to this profession, and I know they will help change our world for the better by touching one life at a time.”
