Students get a taste of Atlanta

2018-06-19

On Friday, April 27, Dr. Cheryl Davids and Kristan Blanton from Southwestern Community College took several students on a unique trip to Atlanta.

Among the stops on their trip were the Martin Luther King,Jr. historical sites, where students were able to visit where he lived, worshipped, and played. The students viewed MLK artifacts up-close and heard childhood stories of the famous minister.

For lunch the students were able to dine inside the CNN Center. The students were in awe of the pure size and busyness of the CNN Center.

After lunch the students went to the Georgia Aquarium and toured all the different exhibits. They even had a chance to interact with several different species of aquatic animals.

“We wanted to provide our students with an opportunity to embrace diversity and experience history. What a great student life event!” said, Dr. Cheryl Davids, Dean of Macon Campus.
