This presentation will have a health promotion focus for faculty and staff that either stand or sit for long hours each day. It will be an active workshop with CORE and lower extremity muscle strengthening and endurance exercises.

Learning Objectives: 

  • Recognize the job related risk factors of a relatively sedentary occupation which may require long periods of static positions
  • Describe effective sitting and standing postures to improve posture and improve postural muscle endurance
  • Identify key CORE and lower extremity muscle groups including individual weaknesses/impairments
  • Demonstrate safe and effective exercises to improve CORE and lower extremity strength
