Member, Board of Trustees
A 1976 graduate of Southwestern's Paralegal program, Elizabeth Waldroop was sworn in as a member of SCC's Board of Trustees on July 11, 2023. She was appointed by Gov. Roy Cooper.
Waldroop also holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Business Education from Western Carolina. She worked for Macon County Schools as a teacher and administrator for a total of 29 years.
She previously served as a member of the Macon County Planning Board, and she is currently the chair for the Farm Service Agency County Office Committee. She is also treasurer for the Kids Place Child Advocacy Center.
Waldroop is the niece of Charles Siler Slagle, who was a founding member of SCC's Board of Trustees. Mr. Slagle served as a Trustee from 1968-1996.
Her current term on Southwestern's Board of Trustees runs through June 30, 2027.
