Submit Transcripts

Below is information related to submitting high school, high school equivalency, college or university, military, and international transcripts to Southwestern Community College. 

**Please note that transcripts which are faxed, emailed by the student or arrive at SCC in an opened envelope will not be considered official. All transcripts from other institutions become the property of Southwestern Community College and cannot be returned or reissued.

High School/ High School Equivalency Transcripts

Students entering degree and diploma programs as well as most certificate programs must submit an official high school, high school equivalency, or Adult High School Diploma transcript to the Registrar’s Office as part of the enrollment process. An official transcript is also required for financial aid purposes.

High School Transcripts

Students should contact their high school to request that an official transcript be sent to the Registrar’s Office.

High School Equivalency Transcripts (GED, HiSET and TASC)

Students who completed a High School Equivalency Diploma in North Carolina will need to request an official transcript online at DiplomaSender.com

For GED Diplomas from other states, refer to the GED website for ordering a transcript. 

For HiSET Diplomas from other states, refer to the HiSET website for ordering a transcript.

Adult High School Diploma Transcripts

Students who completed an Adult High School Diploma will need to request a transcript from the institution at which the diploma was received.

 

SCC accepts official high school/ high school equivalency/AHSD transcripts that are:

Delivered by Student:  The transcript must arrive at SCC in the original sealed envelope.

Delivered Electronically:  Via a secure third-party sender such as Parchment, ScribOrder or CFNC.

College Transcripts

Applicants to degree, diploma or certificate programs who want credit for coursework completed at other post-secondary institutions are responsible for having an official transcript from each institution submitted to the Registrar’s Office.

Official transcripts may also be needed to demonstrate course prerequisite completion or for applications to selective admission Health Science programs.

Courses earned at a regionally accredited college, university, community college or technical institute with a grade of “C” or higher may be accepted if the courses are applicable to the program selected at SCC. See the SCC catalog for more information regarding transfer credit.

Military Transcripts

If you are seeking to use Veterans Affairs Education Benefits or to receive credit for previous coursework/experience, military transcripts must be submitted to the Registrar’s Office.

Submitting International Transcripts

Students who attended high school or college outside the United States must submit a certified copy of their transcript.

Transcripts in any language other than English must be translated and evaluated.

High school transcripts must be translated and evaluated to determine equivalency to a US high school diploma. A course-by-course analysis is not required.

College transcripts must be translated and evaluated to determine an equivalency to a US post-secondary credential. Transcripts must have a course-by-course analysis to receive eligible transfer credits.
