Official Curriculum Transcripts


NOTICE: The SCC Registrar's Office staff are teleworking. We are still able to process transcript requests, however, there may be a delay in the printing and mailing of hard copy official transcripts. If you wish to request an electronic official transcript (for a small fee), you may request one via the National Student Clearinghouse. We are also able to email unofficial copies to you if you complete the request form and email it to us at registrar[at]soutwesterncc[dot]edu. Please note that we may require more processing time, but we will process requests as soon as possible.

** Curriculum transcript requests may be submitted in person, by submitting our online form, by mail, by fax, through Self Service or through our service provider the National Student Clearinghouse. 

Guidelines for obtaining your official curriculum transcript:

Official Transcripts for curriculum course work completed at SCC are issued by the Registrar’s Office upon written authorization from the student.  Permission may be granted by letter or by completing a “Transcript Release Enrollment Verification Form” from the Registrar’s Office. Official transcripts may not be released to any individual other than the student unless otherwise authorized in writing by the student on the release form. Students are required to show a photo ID before a transcript can be released directly to the student in addition to completing the release form.

Fees:  We currently do not charge a fee for transcripts, unless you place an order through the National Student Clearinghouse link.  A request sent through the NSC will incur a $2.50 convenience fee and shipping charges for special shipping arrangements.  This fee is collected by the NSC with a valid credit card. 

As stated in the Student Record Policy of the Student Handbook, a transcript will not be released to a student who is indebted to the college. Indebted students who request transcripts will be referred to the Business Office, Library or the contact person who requested the hold for resolution of the hold.

Processing Time: Students must generally allow a minimum of 1 – 2 business days from the date the request was received by the Registrar’s Office. Processing time could take longer during the start and end of a semester.

Requests in person: - Transcript Release Enrollment Verification Form

Visit the Registrar’s Office on the first floor of the Balsam Center (Jackson Campus) in the Enrollment Services Department, Monday – Thursday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. – 12 noon.  You may complete the request form to indicate where you would like the transcript faxed or mailed to, or you may also indicate if you would like to return to pick up the transcript or enrollment verification.  

A 24-hour notice is required for transcripts to be picked up.  When our office receives the Curriculum Transcript/Enrollment Verification form, it will be processed for pick-up on the following business day after 12 noon.  You must present a form of identification if you are picking up the transcript in person. If you would like someone other than yourself to pick up the transcript, please write this on the release form with their full name and that you give them permission to pick up the transcript on your behalf.  This person must present a valid form of identification in order to pick up the transcript or enrollment verification.

If you are unable to access the form, your written request must include the following information. 

  • Full name, Social Security Number or college issued Student Id Number
  • Current Address and Phone Number
  • Approximate Dates of Attendance
  • Complete Address for transcript destination
  • How Many Copies Requested
  • Student Signature with Date of Request

Requests via Self Service

Current students can log in to your mySCC/Self Service account to submit your transcript request at no charge.  These transcripts are only available for mail-out unless you submit the request with the words "Pick Up" in the modifier section and send an e-mail to registrar[at]southwesterncc[dot]edu to indicate details of your request.

Log in to mySCC, click on Self Service to the left, click on Transcript Request, click on “Add New Request” in the top right, complete the required information, and then click submit at the bottom of the page.

These requests are checked and printed daily.  Your request will be processed within 24-48 business hours.  You may check the status of your request by revisiting Self Service and clicking on Transcript Request.
