Algebra/Trigonometry I

This course provides an integrated approach to technology and the skills required to manipulate, display, and interpret mathematical functions and formulas used in problem solving. Topics include the properties of plane and solid geometry, area and volume, and basic proportion applications; simplification, evaluation, and solving of algebraic equations and inequalities and radical functions; complex numbers; right triangle trigonometry; and systems of equations.

Highway Technology

This course introduces the essential elements of roadway components and design. Topics include subgrade and pavement construction, roadway drawings and details, traffic analysis, geometric design and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to interpret roadway details and specifications, and produce street and highway construction drawings.

Land Based Activities II

This course is a continuation of ODL 135 and develops knowledge, techniques, approaches, and experiential methodology for teaching and leading land-based activities. Emphasis is placed on the students developing safe teaching and leadership skills in all aspects of land-based activities of orienteering, hiking, camping, backpacking, etc. Upon completion, the students should be able to lead and instruct groups in safe land-based programs.

MLT Practicum II (Microbiology)

This course provides entry-level clinical laboratory experience. Emphasis is placed on technique, accuracy, and precision. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate entry-level competence on final clinical evaluations.

Residential Building Code

This course covers the residential building codes that are applicable to the design and installation of HVAC systems. Topics include current residential codes as applied to HVAC design, service, and installation. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the correct usage of residential building codes that apply to specific areas of the HVAC trade.

Residential System Design

This course introduces the principles and concepts of conventional residential heating and cooling system design. Topics include heating and cooling load estimating, basic psychometrics, equipment selection, duct system selection, and system design. Upon completion, students should be able to design a basic residential heating and cooling system.

User Support & Software Eval

This course provides an opportunity to evaluate software and hardware and make recommendations to meet end-user needs. Emphasis is placed on software and hardware evaluation, installation, training, and support. Upon completion, students should be able to present proposals and make hardware and software recommendations based on their evaluations.
