Students in Southwestern Community College’s mechatronics engineering program have created a SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) robot for the Macon County Sheriff’s Office. The students’ creation is not only designed to resolve dangerous situations and reduce damage to property, but it could even save a life.
To honor some of our most tenacious students, our Student Recognition Retention Action Team has started a “Student of the Week” award. Faculty members nominate students based on their tenacity, and the team selects one per week.
More than 160 students made the president’s list, and 134 others made the dean’s list for the fall semester at Southwestern Community College.
Faculty, staff and students at Southwestern Community College’s Macon Campus and Macon Early College teamed up recently on a variety of Valentine’s Day fundraisers that made $267.20 for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.
