New Student Orientation

Young woman smiles as she sits on a large inflatable chairWelcome to Southwestern Community College! We're proud to be part of your educational journey. SCC’s New Student Orientation (NSO) program is designed to help you:

  1. Identify a “go-to” contact Person;
  2. Discover your educational Purpose;
  3. Answer your questions to fully Prepare you for the first day of classes;
  4. Identify strategies to help you Plan the balancing act of family, work and college;
  5. Find the correct Pathway to meet your educational goals.

Orientation is required for all new SCC students. Whether seat-based or online, our NSO will give you a purposeful and positive introduction to our college and the many support systems that will assist you in achieving academic success and changing your life!

New student orientation for the fall semester is scheduled for Thursday, July 14 and Thursday, August 11. Sign up for orientation here. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Balsam Center. Orientation starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.

Online orientation is accessed through your MySCC account. Follow these directions to get there:
1. Click on MySCC on the upper right-hand side of the menu at the top of this page.
You will need your SCC username and password, which are available on your acceptance letter.


2. In the MySCC launchpad menu on the left, click on e-campus (Moodle).

3. Once you have logged into Moodle, you can access new student orientation by clicking this link.

All new students are REQUIRED to complete online NSO to register for the Fall 2021 semester.
