Distinguished Alumni Award

The Southwestern Community College Distinguished Alumni Award is given annually to an SCC alumnus/alumna who has attained extraordinary distinction and outstanding performance in his or her career field and who has demonstrated exceptional community leadership.  The recipient should have achieved local, state, regional, and/or national, international recognition.

 
An alumnus/alumna shall be defined as an individual who graduated with a certificate, diploma or degree from the institution known today as Southwestern Community College and previously known as Southwestern Technical College (1979-1988), Southwestern Technical Institute (1967-1979), or Jackson County Industrial Education Center, a satellite of A-B Tech (1964-67).

 
Distinguished Alumni Award Guidelines:
•   Nominations must be submitted in writing by someone other than a member of the candidate’s family. 
•   Candidate must have an earned credential from the institution known today as Southwestern Community College, or by any of its previous names listed above.
•   Candidate may not be a current SCC Foundation Board Member or Board of Trustee member.
•   Only one recipient will be recognized each academic year.
•   Candidate shall have demonstrated commitment to SCC.
