Member, Board of Trustees
Sworn in on Nov. 18, 2025, Dr. Patrick McGuire of Cullowhee was appointed to SCC’s Board of Trustees by the Jackson County Board of Commissioners.
Dr. McGuire has been a General Dentist for 37 years in Jackson County. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Pfeiffer University and a D.D.S. from Emory University.
He’s an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Sylva, a lifelong member of Sylva First United Methodist Church, a board member of Givens Estates and previously served nine years on the North Carolina Community Foundation’s board.
Dr. McGuire and his wife (Jeanne Sweat McGuire) have four grown children.
