Discipline Procedures for Academic Related Violations

Academic Related Violations include:

  • Plagiarism;
  • Cheating;
  • Aiding Acts of Academic Dishonesty; and
  • Violations of Normal Classroom Behavior

Regardless of class location, Begin the process by entering your concerns into the student concerns portal. For instructors teaching at a High School Partner site, faculty should report issues to their local principal as well.

Once you have documented the concern, schedule a conversation with the student, surrounding your concerns. Be clear about what you have observed, and ask the student for clarification or comment.  Based on this assessment, determine if an academic violation has occurred.

Communicate your findings with the student via their SCC email, and include your academic dean. Specific guidelines for the timeline of the process and next steps are contained in the Discipline and Appeal Procedures for Academic Related Violations Procedure - 6.03.02.01
