EMS program holds pinning ceremony

Five graduates stand beside their instructorsThe next generation of professionals who’ll respond to emergency situations were honored with a pinning ceremony during the final week of their two-year program at Southwestern Community College.

Brianna Buchanan of Tuckasegee, Hannah Clark of Sylva, Keirston Cochran of Franklin, Dalton Drinnon of Franklin and Jonathan MacDonald of Sylva all received their pins at the event, which was held on May 10 on Southwestern’s Jackson Campus.

All graduates are eligible to take state and national certification exams, and they can find employment with providers of emergency medical services, fire departments, rescue agencies and a wide range of other employers.
