Graduates of Southwestern Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Class No. 76 were honored during a Dec. 15 ceremony held at the Jerry Sutton Public Safety Training Center in Franklin. Graduates of Southwestern Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) Class No. 76 were honored during a Dec. 15 ceremony held at the Jerry Sutton Public Safety Training Center in Franklin.

The graduates, who completed over 700 hours of training, include Kevin D. Bryson of Bryson City; Chrystal D. Deitz, Sylva; Tyler E. Hance, Franklin; Brice T. Jenkins, Highlands; Johnathan L. Kilby, Sylva; Christopher A. Martin, Franklin; Clay A. Saunders, Franklin; Cecil J. Shepherd, Whittier; and Jordan C. Sutton, Franklin.

The North Carolina BLET is a state-accredited program designed to prepare entry-level individuals with the cognitive and physical skills to become certified police officers and deputy sheriffs.
