Pepsi employees forego holiday party, support students instead

2022-12-19

Two men exchange a check in front of a Christmas tree. For the eighth straight year, Pepsi-Cola of Whittier employees chose to skip having a holiday party so that they could make a donation to Southwestern Community College’s Student Emergency fund.

The $1,000 is annually used to help students who might otherwise not be able to complete their college education due to an unforeseen financial emergency.

“Unexpected expenses like car repairs can make it extremely difficult for our students to continue attending classes, so generous donors like Pepsi are quite literally a lifeline,” said Brett Woods, Director of the SCC Foundation. “We are very grateful to Pepsi’s employees for the selfless gesture they’ve made every year since 2015.”
