Radiography program holds pinning ceremony

SYLVA – Six graduates of Southwestern Community College’s Radiography program were honored during a May 10 pinning ceremony at the Jackson Campus.

Graduated from the program are: Shelby Crisp of Murphy, Aleisha Evans of Waynesville, Hannah Holder of Robbinsville, Cody Wang of Franklin, Daniel Trantham of Clyde, and Danae Woodard of Franklin.

"The graduates are all ready for exciting new careers, making a difference in their communities, and providing fresh new energy to the health field,” said Meg Rollins Petty, program coordinator. “All of the graduates are already employed and several have plans to continue their education while working now.”

All graduates are now eligible to apply to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists’ examination for certification and registration as medical radiographers. Graduates of the program may be employed by hospitals, clinics, medical laboratories, government agencies, and more.
