Southwestern Community College students who earn their associate degree in Criminal Justice Technology have a new transfer option thanks to SCC’s recent articulation agreement with Lees McRae College in Banner Elk.

The agreement allows SCC criminal justice associate degree graduates to earn a bachelor’s degree within two years by completing 51 semester hours of credit online through Lees-McRae. Tuition for each semester is $2,750.

“We’re constantly looking for ways to help our students begin the next phase of their success,” said Mark Ellison, intake coordinator and career technologies advisor at SCC. “This agreement with Lees-McRae is a great, inexpensive way for our graduates to further their education and work toward a four-year degree from a well-respected institution in the western region of our state.”

Southwestern has dozens of articulation agreements, covering a wide variety of programs, with four-year institutions throughout the state.
