The Smoky Mountains STEM Collaborative (SMSC) is hosting a livestream event at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12 in Myers Auditorium at the Southwestern Community College Jackson campus. The livestream will be preceded with a brief introductory presentation by SCC Physics and Astronomy instructor Matt Cass, who also serves as the Principal Investigator for SMSC.

There will be a celebratory follow-up event at 7 p.m. on July 13 hosted by SMSC at Innovation Station in Dillsboro with space-themed Music Bingo, trivia about the James Webb Space Telescope and prizes.

The James Webb Space Telescope is the largest telescope ever launched into space. It was launched in Dec. 2021 and is returning images from its mission that will provide a new perspective of the known universe.
