Southwestern honors EMS graduates

2023-07-24

On Wednesday, May 17, the next generation of professionals who’ll respond to emergency situations were honored with a pinning ceremony during the final week of their two-year program at Southwestern Community College.

Michael Fischer of Sylva, Courtney Spalding of Cullowhee, Christian Ropp of Sylva, Renee Provost of Sylva, Andrew Lillard of Sylva and Ethan James of Whittier all received their pins at the event, which was held on SCC’s Jackson Campus.

All graduates are eligible to take state and national certification exams, and they can find employment with providers of emergency medical services, fire departments, rescue agencies and a wide range of other employers.

SCC is now accepting applications for prospective EMS students. For more information, contact program coordinator Eric Hester (828.339.4277 or ehester@SouthwesternCC.edu).
