After nearly two years of intense coursework and clinical rotations, nine graduating students in Southwestern Community College’s radiography program received their pins in a ceremony on May 1 at the Jackson Campus.

Sixteen students in Southwestern Community College’s Nursing Assistant program were awarded their pins during a ceremony on April. 29.

The model’s name is singular.

Eighteen months ago, Jamee Pelcher wasn’t looking to make a major change in her life. A single mother of two, she was running her own restaurant in Franklin.

In order to help more students have the opportunity to earn a college education, state representative Joe Sam Queen recently gave $2,000 to the Student Success Campaign at Southwestern Community College.

Queen made the donation in memory of his cousin, Mary Jane Queen, a Jackson County musician who passed away in 2007.

Southwestern Community College’s automotive systems technology program recently received a Master Automobile Service Technology accreditation – the highest level of achievement recognized by the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF).
