#Ok to Talk about Mental Illness

In an effort to destigmatize mental illness, Southwestern Community College will host a pair of forums for students and employees in early May.

“You Are Not Alone: #OK2 Talk about Mental Illness” is scheduled for the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, May 3, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Burrell Conference Center on our Jackson Campus.
  • Wednesday, May 4, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Groves Center on the Macon Campus.

Free lunch will be available for everyone who attends the May 3rd event at the Jackson Campus.

Each event will feature door prizes and gifts.

The forums will include panel discussions, an art gallery, sharing of mental illness stories, a poster session and tables with information about resources available in the community to help individuals dealing with mental illness.

Both events are funded by the Student Life Activity Fund.
