Eligibility Requirements
- Be enrolled in a curriculum program offering Work-Based Learning
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Have completed 9 semester hours in a diploma program
- Have a faculty recommendation
Enrollment Process
- Attend a WBL orientation
- Complete WBL application forms
- Contact the WBL office for an WBL information overview (828.339.4482)
- Discuss WBL with an advisor/faculty member
- Find an employer. Get an approved vendor list from the WBL office or find an employer who meets the WBL criteria
- Get a Google email from the employer (This is necessary as the SCC WBL program uses Google Sheets)
- Get appropriate insurance from SCC (Toni Holland) and bring copies to WBL coordinator
- Get employer information to a WBL coordinator
- Register and pay for WBL
